Sausage, anyone? ..... (-_-;;) ..... 2006-06-13 21:51:36
So today, my roommate Amy, her boyfriend and I had the first (and last) ever Sausagefest! Best. Idea. EVAR. We did a blind test - walked into Whole Foods, ordered one of every sausage they sell. That's over 3lbs of sausage. We returned to our apartment, pulled out the George Foreman grill, and sat in the middle of the den grilling sausages. And playing on the PS2. And World of Warcraft. Without further delay, here are the results of our blind taste test:

A: Slight hint of blueberry. Not much of a sausage taste per-se, tasted more like regular meat with slight herbal and blueberry essences. Good with ketchup or honey mustard.

B: Rather bland. Good for those that prefer unobtrusive sausage… tastes like your run-of-the mill sausage that is very light on the spices.

C: Definitely tastes of peppers, but isn’t necessarily spicy, especially not as spicy as it looks. Would make a good breakfast sausage, say, with an omelette.

D: Slightly more flavorful than C, and a tad more spice, but still no kick. A good entry-level sausage for people that have never tasted sausage before.

E: A significantly stronger kick… less sausage flavor but definitely more spice. Especially tasty with honey mustard dipping sauce.

F: Good kick with slight Cajun/spice flavor to it. Stronger than most, with spicy aftertaste. Drier on the inside than the others.

G: Definitely spicy, tastes like taco meat. Not much else to say about it.

H: Milder flavor. Sweeter than the others. Possibly a favorite.

I: Very peppery. Overwhelming taste of red and green peppers.

J: Very sweet, almost too sweet. Blargh.

K: Best in show. Mild, tasty.

Well there you have it. You may have noticed that as the condition of my stomach deteriorated, so did the depth of our thoughts on the subject. Our brains are currently oozing out of our pores along with 11 different sausage residues and oils.
Stay tuned for the final results when we return to Whole Foods with pictures of the sausages and reveal the identities of the winners!

ggaaulaggalghhhh.... never again.....

Coming out of retirement... ..... (^_^) ..... 2006-06-04 23:07:47
Well, I guess it was a mistake to think I could get away with it. A few friends of mine that I never see online have become rather irate at the abandonment of this journal space, so I've decided to begin updating it again.
So, a *very* quick rundown, to catch y'all up to date. I'm an EMT now. I've got one year left at Emory before I graduate (my 6th year - you should know the story by now). After that, I don't know. Probably P.A. School, but I might take a break and work as an EMT for awhile first, maybe even train to the Paramedic level. In the meantime, I'm taking Organic Chemistry and doing some freelance webdesign, working as a lab assistant, and... well... that's about it.
In other news, two of my favorite people in the world, Pat and Jenn Starling, are, well, you guessed it... married now!! CONGRATS FUCKERS!! I love you both so much. I also fell for the maid of honor, but that's water under the bridge ;) Now it's back to the Atlanta grind, and catching up with old friends.

That's all I can say now. I hope those of you that asked me to start this thing up again are satisfied. ^_^ .... cheers!
